Two members of the musical band Pussy Riot escaped from Russia to avoid the persecution for protesting against Vladimir Putin in a church.
The last August 17, a courthouse in Moscow condemned the three members of the female band to two years in prison for performing a ‘punk prayer’ in the Christ Savior Cathedral in February. The female performers asked the Virgin to free Russia from Putin.
“Regarding to the persecution, two of our members have fled with success from the country and are recruiting foreign feminists to prepare new actions,” stated the band through its official Twitter account @pussy_riot. AV
