Ukraine will respond if there is an invasion of Russia
Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Danylo Lubkivsky, said today that his country is facing a possible Russian invasion `at any moment´ and warned that Ukraine will defend itself.
`If Russia crosses the border, we will fight to defend our country,´ said Lubkivsky in a press conference at the UN headquarters.
The representative of Kiev stressed, in any case, that the will of the government is to achieve a peaceful solution to the conflict and because of this, he called Moscow and pro-Russian separatists to resume negotiations.
Lubkivsky said that the presence of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border `endangers peace and security´ and insisted that Moscow should withdraw them.
Regarding this situation, the American Secretary of State, John Kerry said: `time is running out for Russia to change the course (…) We are ready to act.´
