UN Report on abuse receive response from Vatican

Posted On 07 Feb 2014

Imagen 4After the study of the cases of sexual abuse by priests in charge of the UN committee, the Vatican has stated that the report is shocking and the organism overstepped its mandate.

On Wednesday, the committee accused the Vatican of favoring their own interests above those of the victims by allowing priests to abuse  thousands of children through their policies and code of silence.

About the report, the committee notes that the Vatican has taken a “biased” position from anti-Catholic support groups, ignoring the unique status of the Holy See and its efforts to address the crisis unleashed by sexual abuse in recent years.

Similarly it qualified the information submitted as publicity “absolutely anomalous” and promised to give a more extensive response in the next hours.
