Velez Sarsfield beat Peñarol and is first of Group 4

The Argentine team Vélez Sarsfield is celebrating, but turre seré no  people encouraging them at the stadium because of the sanction imposed by the Conmebol that force the tema  to play without public until at least the semifinals of the Libertadores Cup (in case it manages to classify to that instance). Ricardo Gareca’s team got three key points to climb to the top of Group 4, that until yesterday shared with Peñarol, whom he defeated 3-1.

Despite the final score, the game started better for the Uruguayans, who pushed Velez in the first few minutes, especially through its most aggressive player, Fabian Estoyanoff, who would eventually be the author of the first goal,  on minute 22 from a penalti shot, but Sebastián Domínguez, scored quickly and The Argentine team started to attack, the “Fortín” (Vélez) came to score the victory goals from their star players Federico Insúa and Jonathan Copete.

A win is undoubtedly a key to the aspirations of the “Fortin” in the Libertadores Cup, the main goal of the year, when they are two games away from  finishing the group stage. Gareca’s team, hast to play against  Deportes Iquique as visitor, on April 2, and will close the stage at home against Emelec in the 9th.
