When taking stock of Nicolás Maduro’s plan ‘Vuelta a la Patria’ to allow Venezuelans who emigrated to other Latin American countries to return, Venezuela’s communication secretary, Jorge Rodríguez, said many were swindled.
He assured that many Venezuelans were deceived; Due to slave labor, xenophobia and hate crimes, as well as mistreatment against women and children, Venezuela will sue other countries in the region.
Venezuela’s communications secretary, Jorge Rodríguez, said they will go to the bitter end. “If we have to ask for compensation from the governments of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, we will demand it,” he said.
Rodriguez assures that the oligarchies of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru submit slave labor to Venezuelans. He says that those countries have tried to mount the record of a humanitarian crisis.
He recounted a couple of stories of Venezuelans who have been victims of labor exploitation, xenophobic discrimination and violation of human rights; said that there are thousands of Venezuelans in Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Panama.
The Return to the Fatherland Plan, from the end of August until Monday, September 10, has repatriated 2,780 Venezuelans, most of them from Brazil, where 2,437 citizens have returned.
Likewise, 190 have returned from Peru and 92 from Ecuador; also, from Bucaramanga, Colombia, 53 have returned, of which 52 belong to the Yukpa indigenous people, according to the Venezuelan News Agency. (I)
