Venezuelans request to enter Ecuador without a visa

The computer system registered problems during the massive entry of citizens of that country on Sunday, August 25, 2019.

About 200 Venezuelan migrants attempted to block the international Rumichaca bridge. That happened during the afternoon of this Monday, August 26, 2019, once the humanitarian visa was requested to enter Ecuador.

The protesters expressed that the stoppage is a peaceful position to request the authorization of Ecuador as a route to other countries.

Currently, the so-called irregular entrance is guarded by members of the Ecuadorian Armed Forces and the National Police. “We have not received any reports of irregular steps,” said Carchi Governor Edwin Moreno.

The Colombian commander Granados said that in the immigration offices of his country Venezuelans are warned about the entry requirements to Ecuador. However, there are those who insist that their documents be sealed to try to pass through the Rumichaca bridge.
