Any type of visa now requested by foreign citizens who want to stay in Ecuador temporarily or permanently will be sent to an email.

Since yesterday, the Foreign Ministry put into operation the electronic visa system that would have several advantages for both the State that will save about $ 500,000 a year, as for users.

The process begins by requesting an appointment on the Foreign Ministry website to attend an appointment at which fingerprints are taken and other documents are delivered; After this, the process is completely electronic, including its delivery.

Electronic visas, new procedure for foreigners in the country

This visa will have more assurances to avoid falsifications or impersonations, the electronic way will allow the reception of alerts at the time of issuance and prior to expiration and access to relevant information on activities, tourism, rights, processes, etc. Meanwhile, the control authorities and others will be able to verify the information through digital tools.

Within the country, visas are delivered in the eight zonal coordinations. Yesterday, in the Government Social Platform the first ones were delivered. One of the first beneficiaries was the citizen with Israeli and Argentine nationality, Moisés Goren, who came to renew the document and said he was surprised by the speed of the process. (I)
