Wikileaks and Social Networks Created Chaos to World Powers
Both social networks and the developers of the Wikileaks cables have become the trending topic of global debate seen as a reinvention among people and political and economic powers of the planet.
The role adopted by social networks in the Arab riots, for example, contributed to this debate, emphasizing that the disturbances do the same people.
Last month, the Aljazeera Network organized a debate at the School of Journalism in Columbia University (New York) as part of program “Empire.” In this talk discussed issues such as “The Wars of the information”, beginning with a phrase from Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, who said they are “more determined than ever” in their work to publicize information deemed secret by the U.S. government, adding “The media have the right and the obligation to publish information the public wants to know.
“Nobody can stop Wikileaks” says Professor Clay Shirky, who participated in this debate, arguing that no country can use their national laws to stop because it is a global infrastructure for distribution of information … And that is already becoming a model for others.
