Yasuni issue generated clashes between protesters again

With shouts and banners, about 100 college students attended the outskirts of the Carondelet Palace to express their disagreement with the announcement made by President Rafael Correa, of exploiting the 0.1% of the oil reserves underneath the Yasuni National Park.
A group of government followers also attended the rally to support the initiative of Correa and counterbalance the protest of the college students.
In order to prevent a conflict between the two sides, a group of riot and transit police, helped to maintain order.
Student organizations continue to use social media to call for protests, in order to march to the Palace at least once a day until the government abandons the idea of exploiting the Yasuni.
