Yasuni ITT Extends Two Years

Ecuador’s environmental plan, which plans to prevent the exploitation of 846 million barrels of oil in the Yasuní Amazonian park, will extend over 2 years, according to the government’s chief negotiator, Ivonne Baki.

The goal for the next two years (2012 – 2013) is to broaden the dissemination of the initiative with a global campaign, through which the government hopes to raise 291 million per year, i.e. 582 million biennial.
