101 Registered for the Ecuadorian Referendum Propaganda
The call of the National Electoral Council (CNE) to social and political organizations to register for the referendum campaign, which is part of the referendum to be held on May 7, exceeded the expectations of the body.
In five days (from March 9 to 13), 100 social organizations, political parties, and movements registered nationwide; 79 did so in the CNE, in Quito, and 21in the various provincial delegations.
To these 100 groups registered it must be added the qualification of President Rafael Correa by order of the CNE in order to allow him to be a political subject to participate in the advertising slots.
From the 79 who enrolled in the capital, 36 did it to support the ten Yes questions and 24 for the ten to be No. Meanwhile, 18 presented to support some of the questions to be Yes and others to be no. There was one organization that registered without specifying the endorsement or rejection of the process called by the president, Rafael Correa.
Yesterday, the Political Finance Audit of the Electoral Council initiated a review of the requirements (accountants and decision-makers) to participate in the election campaign which will start on March 26 and will end on May 4, three days before the election process.
