11 new government officials were appointed
Yesterday, 11 new officials were appointed by President Rafael Correa. The new ministers and officers are: Diego Aulestia, Minister of Foreign Trade; Andres Arauz, Coordinator Minister of Human Resource; Nathalie Cely, Coordination of Production; Javier Córdova, Minister of Mines; Eliecer Cruz, governor of Galapagos; Maria de los Angeles Duarte, Urban Development and Housing; Miguel Egas, Minister of Industries; Richard Espinosa, Board of IESS; Guillaume Long, Culture; Catalina Ontaneda, Sports, and Santiago Vasquez in the Public Procurement Service.
During the ceremony, President Correa said that this could be the last inauguration ,“because we are in the last stage of my government,” so he urged the new authorities to not only make “things extremely well, but quickly.” Likewise, Correa reiterated that there is no debt to the IESS, and that oil prices are rising.
