Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, Ricardo Patiño announced that he will assist on March 8 to a meeting with representatives of the 24 countries that have ratified the American Convention on Human Rights.
The event aims to approach a “common and strong” posture about the proposed changes to the functioning of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and its special reports, such as freedom of expression, the Chancellor said.
Among the issues to be discussed will be the possible change of IACHR headquarters from Washington to one of one of The countries that have ratified the treaty.
