Explosion in former airport of Quito altered citizens
Posted On 03 Mar 2013
Last Friday, past 13:40, a compressed air cylinder exploded at the old airport of Quito. There were no reported casualties.
Quito’s Fire Department said the incident occurred about 800 meters from the old passenger terminal, in a warehouse located in the cargo area for flowers, belonging to the company Peetrali.
The Public Company Metropolitan Airport Services (Epmsa for its Spanish acronym) indicated that the warehouses are still Quiport’s responsibility, which operates the new airport in Tababela, opened in 20 February.
