$35 K is the limit for electric vehicles to not pay taxes

Only electric vehicles imported that have a cost of up to $ 35,000 will be fully exempt from duties and taxes, indicated the Minister of Production Richard Espinosa.

Espinosa explained that these vehicles will be “exempt from all, 0% duty, 0% special consumption tax, 0% VAT , 0% green tax, 0% of all taxes, they would just have to pay the logistics to bring them from the producing country to Ecuador.”

The Minister added that electric cars with values of $ 40,000 will have 0% tariff, but shall pay “the proportionality of the respective VAT taxes, ICE, etc.”
