530 agents integrate the service that protects the president

Even the smallest bite of food that President Lenin Moreno swallows is analyzed by the Presidential Protection Service (SPP), a group of 530 elite agents, including the military, police, and agents of the Transit Commission of Ecuador. Their mission: to protect the life of the President 24 hours a day.
The SPP has to accompany the Head of State in all its activities, to reduce the threats and to defend him from possible attacks. This includes checking every place he visits, even the Carondelet Palace.
A prominent resume, high marks in their training courses, and to approve two selection filters are the requirements to be part of the staff. Moreover, they must know about self defense, weapons, defensive and offensive driving and pass a psychological and trustworthy tests. Those in charge of immediate security must also be in excellent physical condition and be between 23 and 40 years old. Once admitted, they sign confidentiality contract.
