599.103 signatures from YASunidos passed the final verification phase
599,103 signatures of the collective YASunidos passed to the final stage of verification of signatures, with which they seek to convene a consultation to avoid exploitation in Yasuní park area. The National Electoral Council (CNE) issued this notice.
To convene a referendum requires be backed by at least 5% of those registered on the electoral register (584,116 signatures), as established in Article 104 of the Constitution.
The group claims to have submitted to the CNE a total of 757,623 in the early stages of the verification process but the organism invalidated 158,520 signatures.
The group predicted yesterday they will not sign the record of the handover of these records validated, considering that the previous verification process was “fraudulent and infringing.”
Patricia Carrion YASunidos member added that it has removed at least 30% of the firms that submitted to CNE and do not discarded resort to international bodies.
