6.6 magnitude earthquake shakes the coasts of Japan

As announced by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), this Monday at dawn a 6.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in the coast of northeastern Japan.
The institute also indicated that the quake was registered in the Pacific Ocean, about 60 km deep in the northeast of the island of Hokkaido, near the Kuril Islands, which are administered by Russia and claimed by Japan.
So far, no damage has been reported.
