U.S. Work Visas for Ecuadorians

U.S. Government announced today that 53 countries (including fifteen new and more American) are eligible for the programs of H-2A and H-2B visas for temporary and agricultural work.

The Citizenship and Immigration Services Office (USCIS) reported today in a statement the new countries included: Barbados, Estonia, Fiji, Hungary,Kiribati, Latvia, Macedonia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

The H-2A visa allows U.S. employers to bring foreigners to the U.S. to fill temporary positions in the agricultural sector, and the H-2B offers U.S. companies the ability to hire temporary foreign non-agricultural workers.

The new list will take effect since January 18th.

Several Latin American and Caribbean countries are among the 53 countries eligible to participate in both programs, including Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and Uruguay.

Others are Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Ethiopia, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Lithuania, Netherlands, Moldova, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, and United Kingdom.
