President Rafael Correa last night celebrated his 6th victory in the referendum, while the National Electoral Council (CNE) introduced the quick count results of the actual records which noted a difference in favor of the yes option for just over 6%.

Exitpoll data, released by his usual pollster Santiago Perez, stated that votes for the “yes” were 62% and “no” by 38%. However, around midnight yesterday, the CNE issued its projected actual voting figures, indicating a margin of error of 0.5%, noting that valid votes “yes” won 53% and “no” 47%.

A gap of 24 points that marked Perez got a little more than 6 points scored by the CNE, showing that the official pollster missed about 18% in favor of “yes.”
On the other hand, President Correa revealed that prior to the completion of the consultation, the Government had already begun with the work of changes especially in justice, ensuring that the transformation it will be a transparent process with international observers.
He added that tomorrow he will convene Fernando Cordero, President of the Assembly and Carlos Polit, State Comptroller to set a final deadline on the appointment of delegates to the tripartite committee to integrate the changes in the Ecuadorian courts.
