Calle 13 Releases New Video

On Wednesday, Rene Perez, singer and composer of Calle 13, presented the video of his song “Latinoamerica” at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). This is a theme inspired by the late Argentinean singer Mercedes Sosa, Puerto Rico and Latin America.
“This song was made as a gift for me, and if you accept it, it is a gift for you too () I knew nothing about Latin America, until I plunged into its womb, the only reference I had a few years ago was the official story that the U.S. gives to Puerto Rico as a colony,” he told dozens of young people who gathered at the Ricardo Flores Magon Auditorium, at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences.
“Latin America” is one of the singles from the latest album by Calle 13, “Entren los que quieran,” which has received 10 nominations for the Latin Grammy Awards, to be held on November 9 in Las Vegas.
