Venezuela Welcomes Iranian Leader in Latin American Tour

Today the Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez formally welcomed the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during a ceremony outside the South American country’s presidential palace.
Chavez pledged the he and his Iranian counterpart will continue together to stop the “imperial insanity” of the United States. The Venezuelan leader mocked the concerns from Washington about his country relationship with Iran.
Recently Venezuela and Iran have found significant common ground since both are among the worlds to crude exporters and are leader of the opposition to what they describe as U.S. imperialism.
The Iranian president is scheduled to visit, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua later this week as part of his five-day tour. (AV)
