OAS Foreign Ministers Meet in Session for Assange Case

The Organization of American States (OAS) is preparing to hold a special session of foreign ministers on the case of Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks.

The meeting will be held this Friday, and will analyze the crisis between Ecuador and the United Kingdom in the case of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

It is considered the “draft agenda”, which calls for the foreign ministers discuss the “situation between Ecuador and the United Kingdom concerning the inviolability of diplomatic premises of Ecuador in the UK, under international law.”

The Permanent Council will also consider the draft regulations for the appointment, which requires that at least two thirds of the foreign ministers of the continent or special delegates are present to hold the consultation meeting. Finally, representatives will decide in what order chancellors intervene during the session.
