Barcelona will give its Olympic Round this Sunday

In its own stadium, the Monumental, Ecuadorian idol team Barcelona Sporting Club, crowned as National Champion of the football Tournament, will give its Olympic Round this Sunday after the game with Deportivo Olmedo.

At first it was said that this game will be played on Saturday, but it definitely was scheduled for Sunday at 12h00.

The celebrations registered around the country after Deportivo Quito’s victory over Emelec by 2-0, depriving them of contesting the final, causing vandalism and delinquency in Guayaquil.

Currently there are 26 prisoners from theft and damage at the Monumental stadium, thereby forcing the match, that was estimated for Saturday, be rescheduled for Sunday.

The security operation will be supported by 1469 policemen and 560 transit officers for Sunday’s match. The mayor of Guayaquil, Jaime Nebot announced that the Metropolitan Office will support the police protection. Among the security measures, parking along the Barcelona Avenue will be permitted, instead of using the spaces in front of the stadium.

The crown reached after 14 years by Barcelona has sparked an unprecedented euphoria, so it has taken several security measures for Sunday’s game, to prevent any situation to get out of hand and the consequences be unpredictable.
