Tomorrow begins election campaign

With a $ 23 million budget for the promotion of all candidates, who will have to select the media and schedules to spread their different work plans, the long-awaited campaign for the February 17, 2013 elections will start tomorrow.

However, authorities from the National Electoral Council (CNE) ensure that all election advertising must have the respective appropriations and authorization codes provided by the agency’s computer system, which will be downloaded once the media sponsor of the candidate is qualified as such, thus gaining access to a key.

The payment will be made to the media after Election Day, once the physical proof of negotiations, invoices and authorizations is presented. “Once this procedure is completed, it will be debited from the assigned value to the political subject that will serve as authorization for the provider to publish or negotiate” – so it says it the Article 17 of the CNE’s Rules of Electoral Promotion.

The media that diffuse campaign advertising must have the unique register of the current provider, taxpayer registration, appointment of legal representative registered in the Commercial Register, identity card and voting certification.

Also they must submit payment fees and certification of the National Telecommunications Secretariat to establish the right of using radio and television frequencies.
