The legendary Hollywood actress, Jodie Foster, reiterated her homosexuality at the gala of the Golden Globes, as she accepted the award in tribute to her film career.

Foster stunned the audience when she stated publicly that she is a lesbian, while confirming that she is single. The 50 year-old actress joked that she would not give a press conference to discuss her private life.

“Seriously, I hope that you’re not disappointed that there won’t be a big coming-out speech tonight because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the Stone Age”, she added.

The Oscar winner said that her most reliable friends and family always knew her sexual orientation. She thanked former partner Cidney Bernard and the children they have in common.

For years the actress had been criticized by the gay community for not recognizing publicly that she was a lesbian.
