Interagua reaches deadline
The period given by the Municipality of Guayaquil, through its Municipal Water and Wastewater Company (Emapag), to the concessionaire of Interagua to enhance the proper investments and to stop trying to increase the tariffs, ends tomorrow. If so, according to constant announcements made by Mayor Jaime Nebot, the Municipality will terminate the contract and, with a direct service or an operator, will take responsibility of watter supply to the inhabitants of the city.

The Concessionaire Interagua has not yet pronounced itself on the matter.
Chairman of the Emapag, Andres Mendoza, says that after nearly two months after the concessionaire said that the investments were conditioned to a rise in tariffs, the company has not yet provided financial guarantees or the money that would allow it to maintain the contract, according to statements made to Radio City.
It should be noted that on behalf of Interagua, no pronouncements on the matter has been made. If tomorrow they remain like this, according to Mendoza, the board of the Emapag will meet Monday or Tuesday to resolve what is best for the interests of the city and its inhabitants.
