Last monday, Ecuadorian singer Eduardo Brito passed away in Quito at age 76, due to heart and brain conditions.

Brito’s family confirmed his death and said the musician was already very delicate and hospitalized. The artist’s sister, Gladys Brown, said his remains will be buried in the Ecuadorian capital.

Brito was known for being the interpreter of classic pasillos as “Manabi”, “No te podré olvidar”, “Corazón que no olvida”, “Atardecer”, “Aún te quiero”, “Mi último adiós”, “Un triste despertar”, “Dos palabras,” among others. He was the musical author of Manabi’s Anthem and former President of SAYCE (Society of Authors and Composers of Ecuador).

Brito Mieles also served in public office as Minister judge of the Supreme Court of Justice and also was governor of Manabi.
