Antonio Noboa: There are economic problems, but the directive does not panic

The president of Barcelona, Antonio Noboa, acknowledged that there are financial problems in Barcelona, product of the terrible deficit inherited from previous administrations, but with the commitment of the leadership and the players the objective is to move the Club forward, both athletically and economically.  

“All the teams in this country will always have problems of that kind, we must not forget that this is Barcelona Sporting Club, not the Barcelona of Spain. The club lives a critical  economically situation, with a deficit of $16 million. Obviously we are trying to move it forward, but it will not happen overnight”, he said.

To take out the technician or any player is not the solution for the poor performance of the team, he said. “We will talk with the players, we can’t panic, because we will return to the Barcelona of always, the one that kick out players and technical directors, that in the end represents money, the complaints are an example. When the player is not consistent, we talk with him, we are not going to be pressured, we will remain calm to get the team out of where it is right now”.

Noboa referred to the Group of fans who insulted the players after training. “Everyone’s anxiety is normal after the game of Libertadores Cup, where everyone saw how we were affected. We all were a little  bit nervous, but it is time to have peace of mind and that’s why leaders are here. “We achieved a Championship after 14 years of tension and we should never have so much tension, both the leadership and the players are united in this project and we are going for the two-time championship”.
