Rafael Nadal returns triumphant

Yesterday, the Spanish Rafael Nadal gave  “Thanks to life”  to be able to continue competing after winning his eighth title in the tennis tournament of “Conde de Godó”  against his  compatriot Nicolás Almagro, 6-4 and 6-3.

“I thank life for the opportunity that is giving me,” said Nadal after achieving a victory that he defined as “very exciting”, after going down 3-0 in the first set he found his best form and broke the service to his compatriot to take control of the game.

Nadal has won ten encounters against Almagro and his last defeat on the clay court of the Real Club de Tenis de Barcelona (headquarters of the Conde de Godó event) occurred 10 years ago. His win is a promising sign that he is returning to his level after a persistent tendinitis, in time for the French Open at the end of this month.

This title is the number 54 of the career of the Mallorcan tennis player of  26-years old.
