Global Warming effects

Christiana Figueres, head of the United Nations for climate, warned that the world is in a “danger zone” because of the excessive concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA) reported that the concentration results extracted from the observatory at Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii, has reached 400.03 parts per million (ppm), exceeding the historical limit of 400 ppm.

“The world must wake up and take note of what this means for the safety of human beings, for their welfare and economic development,” said Figueres and expressed “there is still a chance to avoid the worst effects of climate change” .

The objective set by the international community in 2009 is to keep global warming to a maximum of +2 ° C. If that number is exceeded, scientists believe that the planet would be in a system marked by  extremes climate phenomena. According to the latest report issued by UN experts on climate (Giec), with an annual average of 400 ppm CO2 concentration, the expected global warming expected will be ay least 2.4 ° C.
