Tornadoes in Oklahoma leave 9 victims

Seven adults and two children died in  Oklahoma City, United States, after a series of tornadoes and thunderstorms that struck the area between last Friday night and yesterday morning.

The storm overturned vehicles and let drivers trapped when driving in an interstate highway, on the night of last Friday. Reported deaths include a woman and a baby who were found in their car. According to hospital officials, at least 75 people were injured.

Meteorologists had warned of bad weather for last Friday, but said that the fury of the storm did not equal the of tornado category EF5, the highest, that hit Moore on May 20 and left 24 dead.

The national weather service reported yesterday that the threat would displace towards the neighboring States of Illinois and Missouri, where Governor Jay Nixon declared  the state of emergency last friday.
