The deputy foreign minister of Ecuador, Galo Galarza, said yesterday that it has no document has been extended to the former analyst of the CIA, Edward Snowden, who is currently on a terminal in Moscow since last Sunday.

“He (Snowden) does not has a document issued by the Ecuador as a passport or refugee card as mentioned,” said Galarza. The confusion arose after last Monday, when the founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange said Snowden “received a passing refugee document by the Government of Ecuador,” he also clarified that this does not mean that the South American country has already given Snowden the asylum he request.

Galarza ended by adding that “the Government of the Russian Federation mentioned that he (Snowden) can travel freely.”

Edward Snowden is wanted by the United States after unveiling the past June 9 a secret program known as PRISM, which allows the NSA to enter the servers of nine of the largest U.S. Internet companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, among others in order to spy contacts abroad who are suspected of terrorism.
