Exploitation of the Yasuní into the hands of the Assembly

The National Assembly, since last Friday, already has the request to authorize the exploitation of the oil located in the ecological reserve Yasuní ITT, which was sent by the President of the Republic, Rafael Correa.

The head of State indicated that the document was already sent and the response is expected so a responsible  exploitation of the reserve can start and reiterated that he never lied about the environmental impact of exploitation, accepting that there will be an impact, but this can be minimized with a responsible exploitation which has been proposed.

He said that people is politicizing the issue, because those who appear in the demonstrations are young people of the Popular Democratic Movement (MPD) and criticized the people who are campaigning against the exploitation, which, according to statistics from the Ministry of intelligence, they are very few protesters.

“Don’t allow to be politicized something so sensitive and so sacred (…). reject these politicians that were already rejected in last February  (…). “If they want to collect signatures for a referendum, let’s do it and we will defeat them once again at the polls”, said.
