Shooting in the United States left several victims

Posted On 17 Sep 2013

3 dead people is the balance that left a violent firefight occurred in an administrative base of the U.S. Navy. This is perhaps the most frightening episode occurred within a U.S. military installation, since 2009 when 13 soldiers were killed at the base of Fort Hood, in the State of Texas.

The shooting started at 08:20, when a man entered the so-called building 197 of the military complex, employing around 3,000 people, and made several shots.

Even the motives of the attack are unknown but according to Washington Mayor, Vincent Gray, there is no reason to think that it may be an act of terrorism, however he has not ruled out that possibility.

The police said that the attacker was identified as Aaron Alexis, 34 years old, a native of Texas. Alexis was a non-commissioned officer who retired from the Navy in 2011, however they are unaware of the reasons for his retirement.

Alexis, allegedly went to the base using the card of identification of another person, but so far it has not been clarified if that person was an accomplice or if his card was stolen.

Meanwhile, at the White House, President Barack Obama condemned what he called a “cowardly act” and regretted that the country has to face another firefight.
