Code of ethics of Alianza Pais would apply to other Assembly members

Other Assembly members of the ruling party were also called to the Ethics Committee, to explain their positions on the new Penal Code on the decriminalization of abortion for rape, during the second debate which took place on October 10.

There could be judged or punished, as publicly the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, requested it because he says he have lost confidence in them.

Outside of the organic regime that was issued in 2010 which contains 46 articles, and of the code of ethics, is not known from another document that explains the procedure for sanctions.

“We would open the file and call the partners involved. “There are three types of sanctions: call of attention, temporary suspension and expulsion”, said Galo Borja last tuesday, who is a member of the Ethics Committee of Alianza País.

The official added that this instance will send a report to the directive which is composed of the National Directorate and conformed by 22 members, and a National Executive Bureau from which several Assembly members and authorities of autonomous governments formed part.
