Council of Higher Education intervene the University of Guayaquil
The President of the Council of Higher Education (CES), René Ramírez, defined as an accompanying measure to the intervention that was applied since yesterday to the University of Guayaquil, which is scheduled to last about two years, if necessary.
Ramirez attended yesterday morning to the University and indicated that this measure was taken after a year and three months that lasted the research.
An intervention is an academic and administrative of precautionary and temporary character and it is applied after the CES presented a report in which it states facts that would have been irregular at the university, said Ramirez.
Article 195 of the Higher Education Act (LOES) indicates that a higher institution can be operated on the following grounds: breach of an order or resolution issued by the CES, for academic or administrative irregularities. Also by violence that threaten the normal operation.
Ramirez made the announcement that it will invest about $ 41 million in the implementation of a model management, infrastructure and research equipment, distribution of scholarships and pension payments.
