Growing trade between UE and Latin America

The commercial Exchange between Latin America and the Caribbean with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe experiences an upward growth worldwide, according to a study commissioned by the EU-LAC Foundation, presented yesterday in Warsaw.

Despite the many obstacles that limit the exchanges, the studio said that trade between these two regions increased five-fold in 2012 compared to 2000, reaching $13,620 million dollars.

 For the President of the EU-LAC Foundation ( European Union- Latin America and the Caribbean), Benita Ferrero- Waldner, it is important to make an effort to make both regions know each other.

 “There is much we can give and receive mutually, because together we are the West,” said Ferrero- Waldner.

 Brazil, Mexico , Argentina , Chile, Colombia and Peru ,in that order, are currently the Latin American countries with the largest presence in Central European markets, while most exports that come to Latin America and the Caribbean are from this part of Europe: Poland , Czech Republic and Romania.
