Comptroller´s Office will verify contract with Mcsquared PR

The Comptroller General Carlos Polit ordered on Friday, August 1st, the opening of a “preliminary verification” by the Secretariat of Communications of the Presidency (Secom) to the contract for $ 6.4 million conducted by the American public relations firm Mcsquared PR.

According to the order, the objective is to gather information to define the scope of a subsequent control action. The period for this work is five days.

Nathalie Cely Suarez, Ambassador of Ecuador in the United States, signed the contract on behalf of the government. Earlier, the head of the Secom Fernando Alvarado Espinel, approved the offer and requested Mcsquared´s recruitment. The Contract administration fell on him or his delegate.

Alvarado requested on Monday through his Twitter account the intervention of the Comptroller´s Office in the case.
