Tom Hanks audition to play Forrest Gump
Tom Hanks had already won his first Oscar for his role in the movie ‘Philadelphia’, but in 1994 sought to consolidate his career getting another starring.
It is said that several actors were interested in the film ‘Forrest Gump’, but Tom Hanks auditioned and won what is now considered one of his most memorable characters.
This week, the Vanity Fair magazine shared a video of almost 10 minutes where the casting that Tom Hanks made, Forrest Gump is showed.
The video also shows Robin Wright, actress who played Jenny Curran, _ the children who played Jenny and the Forrest; and little Haley Joel Osment, who represented the son of Forrest.
‘Forrest Gump’ swept the 1995 Oscars, taking the trophies for: Best Picture, Best Leading Actor, Best Director, Best Visual Effects, Best Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay.
In addition, the film won several Golden Globes, a BAFTA, the Screen Actors Guild Award given Tom Hanks and the the Directors Guild to Robert Zemeckis, among other honors.
