20% of imports affect exporters
In an interview with El Expreso daily, Daniel Legarda, executive vice president of the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters (FEDEXPOR), urged as quickly as possible that the authorities review surcharges measure that 20% of imports pay, as this also affects competitiveness in international markets.
The surcharges raise the price of Ecuadorian products compared to other products produced by neighboring countries
The union has sent to the authorities the list of imports with surcharges that affect them, although the government said that in September this measure will be analyzed, they consider that is taking too long. In this case, the sector expects the government to meet its request.
