Drugs must be addressed from the humanistic point of view: prevention and rights

Margarita Carranco, human rights activist, when referring to the increase in penalties for drug traffickers, said that this issue should not be addressed from the punitive view of the criminalization of drug use, as there is a thin line between consumption and micro-trafficking, where the adolescents -the weakest- bear the brunt when subdued to micro-trafficking.
Therefore approaches -she said- should be treated in a more humanistic and preventive way, a strong focus on rights.
