Colombian authorities seized 500 kilos of cocaine and captured two Ecuadorians and two Colombians who were loading it on a boat in Pacific waters, the EcuadorianNavy reported today.
Navy units intercepted the boat at Cabo Manglares, in the department of Nariño, on the border are with Ecuador, and detained after a chase.
13 packages containing 500 kilograms of cocaine, as well as two guns, 32 bullets, communication equipment and $ 1,350 were found in the boat, the agency said in a statement.
The seizure would be destined for Central America and the United States, the report added. With this new blow to drug trafficking in the Colombian Pacific in less than three days, the Navy has managed to seize more than a ton of cocaine and arrest seven people, including four Ecuadorians. (I)
