The Municipal Transit Authority (ATM) of Guayaquil presented the technological platform that will allow controlling the buses of the Integrated Urban Transport System (SITU) through GPS devices.
The first phase of the plan foresees the monitoring of 70 units of the first road corridor that crosses the suburbs and downtown, informed Andrés Roche, head of the institution.
Controls will verify that bus drivers comply with their routes, stop at the stations established by the ATM and respect the speed limit. “After due validation process traffic offenses will be fined,” said Roche.
In the second phase, the monitoring of the due use of the entry and exit doors of the buses will be established. (I)
