Germany, a key trading partner of Ecuador

One of Ecuador’s principal trading partners is Germany. This link has been strengthened through bilateral trade, training, international fairs and programs such as dual training, which bring benefits to students and companies.

This European power, which next Tuesday, October 2, 2017, celebrates the Unity Day, is the destination of Ecuadorian products such as bananas, coffee, cocoa, among others. In addition, it is a market that looks for organic products and with certifications that guarantee added value.

For its part, Ecuador imports machinery, chemicals, plastics, vehicles and German pharmaceuticals. President of the German Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce Wilfried Meinlschmidt said that his country “is the champion in machinery matters. We do whatever is needed, and the Ecuadorian industry should take advantage of it,” he said.

President of the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters (Fedexpor) Daniel Legarda explained that Germany is one of the three main partners of Ecuador in the European Union (EU) bloc, along with Spain and the Netherlands. “It’s a very attractive market.” (I)
