Deferred hearing for the expert who changed Glas´name for Lasso´s in Odebrecht transcription

The authorities deferred the hearing to analyze the sentence against José Luis Fuentes, the expert arrested and accused of modifying the audio information of a conversation between the former Comptroller General Carlos Pólit and the Odebrecht proxy José Santos.

Fuentes, detained since July 25 and investigated for procedural fraud, is accused of having suppressed the name of Vice President Jorge Glas in the audio transcription, replacing it with the word “Lasso.”

In his version, Jose Luis Fuentes said that he did not act under threat and that he was not bribed. Instead, he assures he was not given adequate technical resources to do the expert’s report and that he only had one day for the transcription of a 40-minute audio. (I)
