On the morning of this Wednesday, February 13, 2019, brothers William and Roberto Isaías were arrested in Miami, United States, by immigration authorities. This was confirmed by his lawyer, Jorge Zavala Egas. In addition, it is known that at this moment he is waiting for a hearing.
The statement indicates that they were detained by immigration authorities (Immigration and Costums Enforcement, ICE) for a routine investigation on an immigration issue.
The communiqué is signed by the family of the Isaias Dassum brothers. “After so much persecution, we hope that this issue will not be used by any evil mind that dreams of our destruction,” the statement said.
They report that at this moment they are waiting for a hearing.
In 2012, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that the National Court of Justice (CNJ) sentenced the Isaias brothers to serve a sentence of eight years of imprisonment for the crime of embezzlement for the bankruptcy of Filanbanco. (I)
