Álvaro Noboa will insist on his presidential candidacy . On the afternoon of this Tuesday, January 5, 2021, a group of their representatives went to the State Comptroller General to file a complaint that was also presented to the Military Geographical Institute (IGM).

This was confirmed by Noboa’s spokesperson, Sylka Sánchez. In a brief statement to the press, he affirmed that the document informs that the legal process for the possible candidacy of the businessman has not yet been closed , so the IGM could not proceed to print presidential ballots .

This action arose after the vice president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Enrique Pita , announced that the electoral body had given the green light to print the ballots without Noboa, since there were no legal resources to be addressed in relation to the presidential binomials .

However, Sánchez said that in the document “we are informing that they are going to be surprised by asking for the printing of ballots when the process is still pending.”

He added that the Contentious Electoral Tribunal has not yet closed all the files. “They have tried to deceive the IGM, this would be a crime, embezzled by the CNE,” Sánchez denounced.
