A Robotic Contest Is Held In Guayaquil
For the first time Guayaquil City is embracing the Ecuadorian Robotics Contest (CER). This competition, which began 6 years ago, has been in different parts of Ecuador.
The headquarters of this competition are different places every year. The event has already been held in several provinces and this time was the turn of Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil for the first time. The event began on January 13 and will end on Saturday 15 with a closing program.
In this edition, local high schools, 22 Ecuadorian universities, and three foreign universities have join to participate in the competitions at the fair, which have many categories. This year, there are several archetypes, among some of them there are the dancing robot, which dances with a predetermined rhythm; the maze robot, that identifies the correct path through the maze; the creativity robot, which must be armed with limited components and time, in this competition participants must demonstrate their ingenuity and building skills. These are just some of the many categories that are going to be participating it the Universidad Católica Coliseum.
“The Technical School and the Engineering School have been organizing the event since 2010,” said the Dean of the school of Technical Education for Development, Hector Cedeño. He also commented that ” Yesterday the rector pledged with the development of an international fair in 2012, where all the Ecuadorian universities and robotics groups would be called to join.”
