A very old Bolivian says he’s the world’s oldest man
Birth records of Bolivia ensure that an elderly Aymara, who lives in an Andean village at 4000 meters high, has 123 years old, which could make him the world’s oldest person.
Carmelo Flores Laura told Bolivian television that he was born in July 16, 1890. After this, a committee of the Government of La Paz started to look for him on Wednesday in the town of Frasquía, about 150 km east of La Paz, near the Lake Titicaca.
The Government of the Department of La Paz sent to AFP a copy of the documents that the man delivered to the state agency claiming to have processed it many years after his birth. The copy of his identity card shows the date of July 16, 1890.
The Government also reported that if the centenary man’s age is confirmed, ir could start a process “for inclusion in the Guinness Book of World Records” as the world’s oldest man.
